Corrections

Operators spot a stale spec first

A skid steer spec table goes stale in ways a person notices long before we do. Manufacturers supersede a series without changing the model number much, dealers reconfigure what counts as a base machine, and a hydraulic flow figure gets read off the wrong column of a brochure. If you have run these machines for a living, you will spot that faster than we will.

The five corrections that actually turn up

  • A price that doesn't match the quote in their hand. Ours is an approximate list price for a typical configuration. An enclosed cab, high-flow hydraulics, or two-speed travel can move it five figures, so tell us the configuration you were quoted rather than just the number.
  • Standard flow printed where high flow belongs. It is the easiest spec on the sheet to get wrong, because brochures print both figures in adjacent columns and only one of them is the machine you would actually be running a mulcher with.
  • A lift path filed backwards — a radial-lift machine listed as vertical lift, or the reverse. That one changes which guide and which category page the machine belongs on.
  • A machine we don't carry. 145 machines across 12 brands is not every loader sold in North America, and the gaps are usually a regional model or a lineup refresh we haven't caught up with.
  • A con that has aged out. Undercarriage and final drive complaints in particular tend to be about a specific build window. If a later revision fixed it, give us the year and we'll qualify the wording instead of leaving it hanging over the whole model.

What a corrected flow figure moves

Two people maintain the catalog between other jobs, and neither of them runs a machine for a living. No support desk, no ticket queue — the reply comes from one of us. Spec corrections get checked against the manufacturer's own published sheet before anything moves, and when the manufacturer doesn't publish a figure and no named third-party measurement exists, the field stays blank. A blank column is honest; a plausible-looking number is not.

Accepted corrections go into the machine data itself, which means they also flow through to the brand pages, the category hubs, and the 242 head-to-head matchups that are generated from it. You will see the change on the next build of the site rather than in a long reply.

Your email is used to answer you and nothing else. It is never passed to a dealer, a manufacturer, or anyone selling equipment.

Things we can't do for you

We don't sell machines, hold inventory, or hand contact details to dealers. There is no quote button here and your message never becomes a lead. We also can't value a used unit with 2,000 hours on it or tell you what your trade is worth — that is auction and dealer territory, and a number invented here would cost you real money.

No manufacturer pays to appear in the catalog, to rank higher in a guide, or to have a con softened. Business mail that opens with paid placement gets a short answer.
