Wacker Neuson's track loaders are newer to the US than the company is. From 1999 to the end of 2011 the German group built compact excavators and all-wheel-steer loaders for the Gehl and Mustang brands. Its own skid steers and track loaders came later, from a production line in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, that began building them at the start of 2015 with the ST35 and ST45 track loaders. Every ST model on this page is still built there.
The model number is the rated capacity in hundreds of pounds at 50 percent of tipping load, so an ST37 is a 3,700 lb machine on that basis. Most track loader makers quote 35 percent, and Wacker Neuson's own 35 percent figures put the ST27 at 1,890 lb, the ST37 at 2,590 lb and the ST45 at 3,150 lb; use those when comparing against Bobcat, Kubota or Takeuchi. All five are vertical lift. The ST27, unveiled at ConExpo in 2023 as the smallest of the line, introduced a uni-body design that was extended to the ST31 and ST37 in 2024. The four 74 hp models stay under the line where DEF arrives; the 100 hp ST50 does not.
Access and sightlines are why buyers pick these, and the ST27's 60-inch width is the clearest example. The recurring complaint is about support rather than hardware: fault codes come without plain-language descriptions, and owners describe dealer technicians phoning codes in to have them read. Coverage has changed. From October 2016 Wacker Neuson offered a 3-4-5 package (three years or 3,000 hours on the whole machine, four years on the powertrain, five on electrical parts), but dealer listings for 2026 machines show two years or 2,000 hours on the machine and four years or 4,000 hours on the engine, so confirm the terms on the build sheet.
