New Holland has 11 machines here, 5 on wheels and 6 on rubber tracks, priced $39,000 to $115,000. The range runs from the New Holland L316 up to the New Holland C362, listed biggest first by capacity measured the same way on every machine rather than as each brochure states it.
A New Holland skid steer and a Case skid steer come off the same assembly line. Both brands belong to CNH, and every skid steer and track loader either sells is built in Wichita, Kansas, where New Holland moved its production in 2002 after earlier stints in Grand Island, Nebraska, and Belleville, Pennsylvania. New Holland's first skid steer, the L35, dates from about 1972. Several models on this page have a Case counterpart with the same rated capacity and engine output (the L316 and Case SR160B, the C337 and Case TV370B), so pricing the same frame at both dealers is a reasonable first step.
What the badge adds is Super Boom, New Holland's vertical-lift linkage. The current 300 Series, launched in February 2020 in 11 models, splits along it: L models are wheeled, C models are tracked, and only the L316 and C327 here use a radial path. The 300 Series also brought an 8-inch LCD display with a reverse camera and an upgraded electrical harness. New Holland quotes its track loaders at 50 percent of tipping load rather than the 35 percent Bobcat, Cat, Deere and Kubota use, so a C337's 3,700 lb is not a like-for-like number against a 35 percent machine of the same weight.
Owners like the cab, the forward-tilting cab-and-boom service access and the reach Super Boom gives at full height. Their complaints cluster on electrical faults shared with the Case machines of this generation, the cost of a main harness if one fails, and thin construction-dealer coverage outside farm country, which also weighs on resale. When it set its terms in December 2017, New Holland covered Super Boom skid steers and track loaders for two years or 2,000 hours, with no hour limit in the first year.
