Head to head
Gehl R190 GEN:2 against Gehl RT195
Only the Gehl RT195 runs tracks, so their advertised capacities are not measured the same way; the Gehl R190 GEN:2 moves 1.0 GPM more through the auxiliary circuit; only the Gehl RT195 runs rubber tracks.
These two are rated differently on purpose. A wheeled skid steer is rated at half its tipping load and a track loader at 35 per cent, because the track machine holds back more reserve. So the capacity rows below are not a like-for-like contest, and the tipping load row is the closer thing to one.

What owners say about each
Gehl R190 GEN:2
- The largest radial-lift wheeled skid steer Gehl still sells, which matters if you specifically want radial geometry above 1,650 lbs.
- A 30 GPM high-flow option opens up brooms, augers, cold planers and the lighter mulching heads.
- 12 mph two-speed travel makes long carries across acreage noticeably quicker than single-speed machines in this class.
- 119-inch hinge pin height clears standard tandem dump trucks, so it is not limited to trailers and low-side bodies.
- The 69 hp Yanmar 4TNV98C-NMS2V is naturally aspirated with no DEF system to service.
- Covered by Gehl's standard two-year, 2,000-hour warranty, which beats the one-year coverage several premium brands still ship.
- Radial lift gives up reach at full height, so loading over a high truck side takes more positioning than a vertical machine.
- Self-leveling is not part of the package on the radial R-series, so pallet and bale work needs manual bucket feathering.
- At 6,995 lbs it is past the point where a half-ton pickup and light trailer will move it.
- No published list price, so quotes vary by dealer and are hard to compare.
Gehl RT195
- The only radial-lift track loader Gehl still sells above 1,650 lbs, which matters if radial geometry is what you are after.
- 1,950 lbs rated at 35% of tipping load, and 2,050 lbs with the optional counterweight - a conservative basis, unlike the wheeled machines' 50%.
- 32 GPM high-flow option is generous for a machine this size and covers most brush and grading attachments.
- Tracks plus radial lift is the combination for soft ground and slope work, where wheeled machines lose traction first.
- Self-leveling and an A/C enclosed cab are available, which the smaller RT105 largely is not.
- Single-speed travel only - no two-speed option is listed, so long carries are slow for a machine that weighs 8,400 lbs.
- 18 GPM standard flow is low for the frame size; the useful flow is behind the high-flow option.
- 120-inch hinge pin height is short compared with the vertical VT machines just above it in price.
- Radial lift means reach at full height is limited, so high-side truck loading takes care.
