The bright segment is what Yanmar TL25RP is rated to carry; the grey run past it is the rest of its tipping load. Bar length is tipping load drawn to the same scale on every machine on the site, so a short bar is a smaller machine and not a conservative rating.

Smallest machine Yanmar sells with a seat in it, added in July 2026 on the ASV Posi-Track undercarriage: 23.2 hp, 800 lb rated capacity and 3.2 psi ground pressure on 11-inch tracks. Aimed at landscape and utility crews working through gates and across finished ground, where a mid-frame track loader either will not fit or will not be forgiven.

Suits: Crews who need a sit-in track loader small enough for gated backyards and light enough not to mark turf Its radial lift path reaches furthest at mid-height, for digging, grading and backfilling.

What owners report

Summarised from the sources listed below. Nothing here was tested by us.

Access is the entire argument here, and 48 inches is the number that makes it. Yanmar's smallest track loader is built to get through a garden gate and across a lawn without leaving the lawn worse, and it does that by pairing that narrow footprint with the patented ASV Posi-Track fully suspended undercarriage - two independent torsion axles, 12 wheels per track on sealed bearings, and a general-purpose belt with embedded co-polymer cords rather than a steel core, holding it to 3.2 psi.

What separates it from the stand-on machines it is often shopped against is that it is a proper sit-in loader: ROPS structure, pilot-operated hydraulic joysticks managing loader and drive independently, and a 3.5-inch colour display covering rpm, temperatures, fuel level and diagnostics. What separates it from everything above it in the range is honest and worth stating plainly. 800 lb of rated capacity and 9.9 gpm of auxiliary flow at 3,000 psi, with no high-flow option available on any small-frame model, make this a bucket, fork and light-auger machine. The 23.2 hp three-cylinder is the smallest engine Yanmar puts in a loader, and though 2,250 lb of breakout force is creditable, there is limited power behind it for sustained heavy work. Cab options stop at a cold-weather enclosure - the air-conditioned all-weather cab starts at the TL40RP.

It makes sense to a landscaper, property maintenance contractor or rental operation whose jobs are defined by what they can get the machine into and what state they leave the ground in. Anyone who occasionally needs to lift a full pallet or run a powered attachment should be looking at the TL40RP or TL50RP instead, both of which fit through most of the same spaces. One buying note: ASV's RT-25 is the nearest relative, but it is not the same machine on paper - different engine, lower rated capacity, slower - so compare actual spec sheets rather than assuming the two badges describe one loader.

What owners like

  • A 48-inch overall width is the whole point - it goes through gates, along paths and between buildings where a mid-frame simply stops, and Yanmar describes it as combining that footprint with the Posi-Track undercarriage for "a smooth ride, low ground pressure and dependable traction across soft and uneven terrain".
  • 3.2 psi from 11-inch tracks with 1,210 square inches of ground contact is light enough to work sod, pavers and saturated ground that a wheeled machine of the same capacity would ruin.
  • It is a sit-in machine with real ROPS, pilot-operated hydraulic joysticks and a 3.5-inch colour display monitoring rpm, temperatures, fuel and diagnostics - so it competes with compact track loaders rather than with stand-on or walk-behind equipment.
  • Two independent torsion axles with 12 wheels per track on sealed bearings, running a general-purpose track with embedded co-polymer cords rather than a steel core, is genuine suspension at a size where rivals usually offer none.

What owners complain about

  • 800 lb of rated capacity is far below anything else in Yanmar's range and will be the wrong machine for most buyers cross-shopping mid-frames - the price gap rarely reflects how large the capability gap is.
  • 9.9 gpm at 3,000 psi is the ceiling with no high-flow option offered, so powered attachments are largely out of reach and this is mostly a bucket, fork and light-auger machine.
  • The 23.2 hp three-cylinder is the smallest engine in the line and it will feel it in anything heavier than light material - 2,250 lb of breakout force is respectable, but there is not much engine behind it.
  • Cab options stop at a cold-weather cab; there is no air-conditioned all-weather cab as there is on the TL40RP and upward, so summer work is an open-ROPS proposition.
  • No bucket pin height is published, as with every Posi-Track model, so dump height cannot be compared against the machines it sits beside.
  • It launched in July 2026 with no published price and no resale history. ASV's own RT-25 is the nearest counterpart but is not spec-for-spec identical - it uses a Perkins engine, is rated at 665 lb and tops out at 5.1 mph - so do not read ASV's published figures as this machine's.

What buyers ask

How wide is it, and will it fit through a gate?
48 inches overall, which clears most standard residential gates and side passages. That is the specification the machine exists for, and Yanmar positions it explicitly for landscapers, rental operators and light construction crews where access and surface protection are the constraints. Measure your narrowest regular access point before buying, since 48 inches is the machine and not the machine plus a wide bucket.
What attachments can it run?
9.9 gpm at 3,000 psi is the ceiling, with no high-flow option offered on any of Yanmar's small-frame machines. That supports buckets, forks, light augers, small brooms and grapples. Anything demanding real hydraulic volume - mulching heads, cold planers, large snow blowers - is outside its scope entirely rather than merely a stretch.
Is it a stand-on machine or a sit-in one?
Sit-in, with a proper ROPS structure, pilot-operated hydraulic joysticks controlling loader and drive functions independently, and a 3.5-inch colour display. That puts it in the compact track loader category rather than competing with stand-on or walk-behind loaders, and it is a meaningful difference over a full day's work.
Can I get an air-conditioned cab?
No. Configurations stop at open ROPS or a cold-weather cab on this model. The full all-weather cab with heat and air conditioning begins with the TL40RP and runs up through the range, so if you need climate control, the next model up is the entry point.
Is it the same as the ASV RT-25?
They are close relatives rather than twins, and the differences matter. ASV's RT-25 shares the 48-inch width and 11-inch tracks but uses a Perkins three-cylinder, is rated at 665 lb against this machine's 800 lb, and tops out at 5.1 mph against 6.9. Compare the two spec sheets directly rather than treating ASV's published figures - including its 101-inch bucket pin height - as applying to the Yanmar.
Will 800 lb of capacity be enough?
For mulch, soil, gravel by the shovelful, light landscape material and general property maintenance, yes. For full pallets of block, wet aggregate or sustained loading work, no - and that gap is larger than the price difference to a TL40RP or TL50RP suggests. Be honest about the heaviest thing you lift regularly before choosing on width alone.

Construction-grade flagship of Yanmar's TL-series compact track loaders, launched in late 2023, the TL100VS runs a 103.5 hp turbocharged and intercooled Yanmar diesel. Its 3,780 lb rated capacity, 11-foot hinge pin height, and 41 gpm high-flow option put it squarely against the Bobcat T76 and Cat 275 class - built at the ASV plant in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Yanmar's radial-lift mid-frame track loader, and the machine that opened the brand's CTL line in 2023: 67 hp, 2,100 lb rated capacity and a torsion-axle suspended undercarriage, built at the ASV plant in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. It runs a steel-embedded rubber track, which is what separates it from the TL65RP that now sits beside it on Yanmar's Posi-Track undercarriage at slightly lower rated capacity.
