Yanmar
Yanmar TL80VP Forestry

The bright segment is what Yanmar TL80VP Forestry is rated to carry; the grey run past it is the rest of its tipping load. Bar length is tipping load drawn to the same scale on every machine on the site, so a short bar is a smaller machine and not a conservative rating.
Yanmar publishes no list price for this machine, and we found no dealer listing worth quoting, so there is no number here to give you. What we can say is what the machines around it cost: the middle half of the 26 track loaders within 15 per cent of its capacity list between $75,490 and $92,000. That is a fact about them, not a quote for this one.
Forestry-package version of the TL80VP, announced August 2026: same 71.5 hp engine and 2,800 lb rated capacity, but cab-only and with the 34.3 GPM high-flow circuit fitted as standard rather than as an option. The package is aimed at mulching and land-clearing work, where the machine spends its life running a powered head in debris.
Suits: Land-clearing crews who run a mulching head all day and want the high-flow circuit and guarding built in Its vertical lift path reaches highest at full extension, for loading high-sided trucks and stacking.

What owners report
Summarised from the sources listed below. Nothing here was tested by us.
Mulching and clearing work asks two things of a loader that general site work does not: hydraulics sized to run a head continuously, and a cab built to be hit. This is Yanmar's mid-frame answer to both, and it is the TL80VP underneath - same 71.5 hp 4TN86CHT, same fully suspended ASV Posi-Track undercarriage, same 17.7-inch tracks - with the forestry package layered on top.
The guarding is the part worth paying attention to, because it is specified rather than gestured at: a 3/4-inch polycarbonate door, 1/2-inch polycarbonate side windows, and protection rated to ISO 8082 for rollover and ISO 8083 for falling objects. Ground pressure lands at 4.2 psi, up slightly from the base machine's 3.9 because the package adds 690 lb, and that trade is the honest cost of the build - you carry the protection around all day whether or not you are in the trees. Hydraulics are where the paperwork needs attention. Trade coverage of the August 2026 launch describes the forestry models as shipping with the 34.3 gpm circuit standard, while Yanmar's own specification page for this machine still lists the 24.7/34.3 low/high pair. Those cannot both be the machine you are quoted, and on a clearing build the difference is the whole job.
Vegetation management on soft or uneven ground, at a frame size that still trailers easily, is the contractor's case for it. If clearing is occasional and the rest of the week is hard surfaces, a standard machine with a high-flow option is the more flexible purchase, and the steel-embedded TL80VS-1C keeps its tracks longer in debris. Before signing, pin down the flow configuration in writing, get the unpublished bucket pin height measured, and ask for the undercarriage parts price list - on an all-rubber suspended design, that list is the real ownership cost and it is not on the invoice.
What owners like
- The guarding is specified rather than implied: a 3/4-inch polycarbonate door and 1/2-inch polycarbonate side windows, with forestry protection meeting ISO 8082 ROPS and ISO 8083 FOPS. That is the difference between a cab you can work debris behind and one you cannot.
- 4.2 psi on 17.7-inch tracks with 2,283 square inches of ground contact keeps it working on wet cutover that would bog a heavier machine - flotation is the whole reason to do clearing work on a Posi-Track undercarriage.
- Mechanically it is the TL80VP underneath, so the engine, undercarriage, parts and service story are identical to the standard machine rather than being a low-volume special.
- It is cab-only, which is the correct decision for a machine that lives in flying debris even though it removes the cheaper build.
What owners complain about
- Yanmar's own spec page for this machine still lists 24.7 gpm standard and 34.3 gpm high flow, while trade coverage of the launch describes the forestry models as shipping with the high-flow hydraulics standard. Since high flow is the point of a forestry build, get the circuit written onto the order rather than inferred from the badge.
- Rated capacity is the same 2,800 lb as the standard TL80VP - the package buys hydraulics and protection, not lifting capacity.
- At 9,645 lb it carries 690 lb more than the base TL80VP, and that weight eats directly into the flotation advantage the undercarriage exists to provide.
- No bucket pin height is published, as on every Posi-Track model, so its reach cannot be compared on paper with anything else.
- There is no open-ROPS version at all, so a buyer who wants this hydraulic specification for general site work pays for forestry guarding they will never need - and with no published price and no used market for an August 2026 machine, there is no way to check what that guarding is costing.

Construction-grade flagship of Yanmar's TL-series compact track loaders, launched in late 2023, the TL100VS runs a 103.5 hp turbocharged and intercooled Yanmar diesel. Its 3,780 lb rated capacity, 11-foot hinge pin height, and 41 gpm high-flow option put it squarely against the Bobcat T76 and Cat 275 class - built at the ASV plant in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Yanmar's radial-lift mid-frame track loader, and the machine that opened the brand's CTL line in 2023: 67 hp, 2,100 lb rated capacity and a torsion-axle suspended undercarriage, built at the ASV plant in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. It runs a steel-embedded rubber track, which is what separates it from the TL65RP that now sits beside it on Yanmar's Posi-Track undercarriage at slightly lower rated capacity.
