Gehl V275

The bright segment is what Gehl V275 is rated to carry; the grey run past it is the rest of its tipping load. Bar length is tipping load drawn to the same scale on every machine on the site, so a short bar is a smaller machine and not a conservative rating.
The 2,750 lb vertical machine that took over the slot the R260 and V270 used to fill, and the largest of the mid-range V-series before the frame steps up at V325. A 33 GPM high-flow option and a 129-inch lift make it the first Gehl wheeled machine that handles high-side trucks and hungry attachments comfortably.
Also sold as
The same machine is sold as the Manitou 2750V, which we do not list separately. Different paint and a different dealer network, same hardware.
Suits: Site contractors who need truck-loading height and real attachment flow without moving to a large-frame machine Its vertical lift path reaches highest at full extension, for loading high-sided trucks and stacking.

What owners report
Summarised from the sources listed below. Nothing here was tested by us.
Replacing a radial machine and a previous-generation vertical-lift one at the same time, this is Gehl's single current answer in the 2,750 lb wheeled band, and it leans on lift height. Nearly 98 inches of dump height with 33 inches of reach at full height is what buyers in this class are actually paying for, because it is the difference between loading a tri-axle cleanly and shuffling the machine forward on every pass.
The mid-range redesign it belongs to changed more than the numbers. The lift arm was reshaped to slope away from the operator so soil and debris fall off instead of building up, with hydraulic lines routed inside the arms for protection. The cab grew roughly 23% with a new window and roof design and a forward slope for visibility to the load, and the pilot joysticks mount to the seat so they track the operator. Keyless start and LED lighting are part of the same package, and the IdealAccess bi-folding door - which gives more headroom and lets the machine be run with the door open or closed - is available as an upgrade. Power is a 72 hp turbocharged Yanmar making 217 ft-lbs at 1,800 rpm, with 26 GPM standard hydraulics and a 33 GPM high-flow option. Gehl puts the total cost of ownership improvement across the mid-range at up to 15% over five years.
Loading trucks and running mid-weight attachments, on wheels rather than tracks for the running cost, is where it makes sense. Gehl publishes no list price, so everything is a dealer quote - and since the same machine is sold as the Manitou 2750V, quoting it under both badges is worth the calls, especially if one dealer is considerably closer. Before signing, check whether two-speed and the high-flow circuit are itemised rather than assumed, decide whether the IdealAccess door is worth its upgrade cost for your operators, and look hard at the tipping load if you routinely work at the capacity limit.
What owners like
- A 98-inch dump height and 33 inches of dump reach at full height mean it places material over high-sided and tri-axle bodies rather than just reaching them, which is the practical reason to buy this capacity band.
- 26 GPM standard at 3,475 psi is strong flow for the frame, and the 33 GPM high-flow option at 3,325 psi covers most mulching heads, cold planers and snow blowers rather than only brooms and augers.
- The Yanmar 4TNV98CT-XNGL makes 217 ft-lbs at 1,800 rpm, so it pulls from low in the range instead of needing to be revved to work.
- Two-speed takes travel from 7 mph to 11 mph, which on a machine of this capacity is a genuinely useful combination when the pile and the work are separated.
- The redesigned lift arm slopes away from the operator so material sheds rather than packing onto it, and the hydraulic lines run inside the arms where they are protected from strikes.
- The cab is about 23% larger than the previous generation with a reworked window and roof design, and the pilot joysticks are mounted to the seat so they move with the operator rather than being reached for.
- Gehl claims the mid-range redesign cuts total cost of ownership by up to 15% over the first five years, which is at least a stated, checkable figure to hold a dealer to rather than a vague efficiency claim.
What owners complain about
- Only 5,501 lbs of tipping load sits under the 2,750 lb rating, and since Gehl quotes wheeled machines at 50% that is a real ceiling rather than a conservative one - an off-centre pallet eats the margin fast.
- At 8,199 lbs it has left pickup-and-utility-trailer territory behind; a gooseneck or heavy tandem and a properly rated tow vehicle are part of the purchase.
- The IdealAccess bi-folding door is an optional upgrade rather than standard equipment, so the headroom and open-door operation it brings are not on a base machine.
- Vertical lift geometry gives up some of the ground-level digging bite that buyers stepping across from Gehl's radial machines will immediately notice when backdragging.
- Gehl's dealer footprint is thin in much of the country, and on a machine at this price the response time on a parts order is the ownership cost nobody quotes you.
