The bright segment is what Gehl VT335 is rated to carry; the grey run past it is the rest of its tipping load. Bar length is tipping load drawn to the same scale on every machine on the site, so a short bar is a smaller machine and not a conservative rating.

Gehl publishes no list price for this machine, and we found no dealer listing worth quoting, so there is no number here to give you. What we can say is what the machines around it cost: the middle half of the 17 track loaders within 15 per cent of its capacity list between $88,000 and $98,000. That is a fact about them, not a quote for this one.

Large-frame vertical track loader from the September 2025 launch, moving to a 100 hp Deutz TCD3.6 and 40 GPM of optional high flow. Rated 3,350 lbs at 35% of tipping load, it is built for the attachment-heavy work that smaller CTLs starve on.

Also sold as

The same machine is sold as the Manitou 3350VT, which we do not list separately. Different paint and a different dealer network, same hardware.

Suits: Land clearing, forestry mulching and heavy attachment work that needs flow above 30 GPM Its vertical lift path reaches highest at full extension, for loading high-sided trucks and stacking.

What owners report

Summarised from the sources listed below. Nothing here was tested by us.

Between the 3,350 lb VT335 and the 3,600 lb VT360 there is one engine and about 300 lbs of capacity, so this is the entry point into Gehl's new large-frame track loaders rather than a compromise version of one. The 100 hp Deutz has the reserve to drive an attachment and the tracks simultaneously, which is the failure mode buyers actually run into when they under-buy engine for a mulching head.

The platform changes are worth more than the capacity number. Patent-pending lift arms slope away from the operator so mulch and soil shed instead of accumulating, with hoses routed inside or under the arms, and the forward-sloping roof carries a large skylight for visibility at full lift. Underneath, Gehl redesigned the undercarriage around forged hardened sprockets, dual-flange idlers and triple-flange rollers, with R&D director Tyler Handel saying the effort went into making the machines hold up in the toughest conditions. Hydraulics are load-sensing with variable rate flow so the operator can meter flow to the attachment, and an adjustable creep mode with a boost pedal handles cold planers and brooms. Controls are seat-mounted pilot joysticks, not electro-hydraulic, and the IdealAccess bi-folding door stores ahead of the operator rather than needing swing clearance.

Land clearing, site prep and forestry work where flotation matters is its place, provided the machine will be working most days - it is too much undercarriage cost to justify on a machine that sits. Gehl publishes no price, so gather quotes under both the Gehl and Manitou badges, since the identical machine sells as the Manitou 3350VT. Before signing, confirm high flow and the hydraulic boost are itemised, ask what a full set of tracks costs and what options exist, and specify the forestry package up front if clearing is the plan, because guarding is far more expensive to add later.

What owners like

  • 9,568 lbs of tipping load under a 3,350 lb rating - because Gehl quotes track loaders at 35%, the headline is a conservative statement of the machine rather than a flattering one.
  • The 40 GPM high-flow option genuinely runs large mulching heads rather than merely turning them, which is what separates this from the 30 GPM machines a frame size down.
  • The redesigned undercarriage uses steel-forged hardened sprockets with a corrosion inhibitor, dual-flange idlers front and rear to resist de-tracking, and triple-flange rollers to damp vibration.
  • Boom suspension is standard on this platform rather than an extra-cost option, which cuts spillage and fatigue on any job involving a carry.
  • IdealTrax tensions the tracks automatically at start-up and releases them at shutdown, now controlled from the in-cab display - it removes a manual maintenance step and stops a machine running over-tensioned unnoticed for weeks.
  • Gehl offers a purpose-built forestry package with impact-resistant doors, guarding, a swing-out cage and an integrated recovery winch, so the machine can be specified for clearing work from the factory rather than retrofitted.

What owners complain about

  • At 11,839 lbs before attachments, transport is a dedicated-trailer job and needs planning around tow vehicle, trailer rating and licensing.
  • Track, roller, idler, sprocket and final-drive wear scales with weight, and this sits near the top of its class - undercarriage is the dominant lifetime cost on this machine, not the purchase price.
  • Launched September 2025, so no independent durability record exists for the new undercarriage components despite the design claims made for them.
  • Two-speed travel is roughly 9 mph, slower than the 12 mph the wheeled large-frame machines manage, which is limiting on a spread-out site.
  • Deutz power splits the parts relationship from Gehl's Yanmar-powered machines, and Gehl's dealer network is thin for a machine at this end of the price range.

What buyers ask

How does the VT335's 3,350 lb rating compare with a Case or New Holland track loader?
Gehl rates it at 35% of a 9,568 lb tipping load. Case, New Holland and Wacker Neuson headline their track loaders at 50%, which produces a larger number off the same machine. To compare fairly, either convert Gehl's figure upward or compare tipping loads directly - a 50%-basis headline means less real reserve at the same quoted capacity.
VT335 or VT360?
Same 136-inch hinge pin, same 25/40 GPM hydraulics, same undercarriage. The VT360 brings 114 hp against 100 hp and about 250 lbs more rated capacity, for roughly 300 lbs more machine. If you are running the largest mulching heads, take the VT360; otherwise the VT335 does the same work for less.
What is the undercarriage likely to cost me?
Gehl has not published wear-life figures and the platform is too new for owner data, so treat any number you are given as an estimate. What is knowable is the design: forged hardened sprockets, dual-flange idlers front and rear and triple-flange rollers, all chosen to resist de-tracking and vibration. Ask the dealer for the price of a complete track set before you buy, not after.
Is IdealTrax standard on this machine?
Automatic track tensioning is Gehl's system across its track loader range, and on this platform it is operated from the in-cab display. It tensions on start-up and releases tension at shutdown, which removes a scheduled manual adjustment and reduces standing load on the undercarriage overnight.
Can I get it set up for land clearing from the factory?
Yes. Gehl offers a forestry package built around impact-resistant doors, additional guarding, a swing-out cage for rear access and an integrated winch for recovery. Order it with the machine - retrofitting guarding and a winch afterwards costs considerably more and may not match the factory mounting points.
