The bright segment is what Gehl V360 is rated to carry; the grey run past it is the rest of its tipping load. Bar length is tipping load drawn to the same scale on every machine on the site, so a short bar is a smaller machine and not a conservative rating.

Gehl publishes no list price for this machine, and we found no dealer listing worth quoting, so there is no number here to give you. What we can say is what the machines around it cost: the middle half of the 9 wheeled machines within 15 per cent of its capacity list between $67,909 and $90,000. That is a fact about them, not a quote for this one.

The largest wheeled skid steer Gehl sells, topping the September 2025 large-frame range at 3,600 lbs and 114 hp. With counterweights it rates 3,800 lbs, which is compact-wheel-loader territory on skid steer running gear.

What owners report

Summarised from the sources listed below. Nothing here was tested by us.

Gehl went years without a credible answer at the top of the skid steer market, and this is the correction. Global product manager Nathan Ryan framed the September 2025 launch around demand for what Manitou internally calls an extra-large frame machine - one loader that can grade, clear, load and mulch instead of three - and aimed the range squarely at Caterpillar, JCB, Takeuchi and Case in the super skid steer class. On wheels, the 114 hp Deutz is the most engine Gehl puts in anything it builds.

The engineering worth knowing is in the lift arms and the hydraulics. Patent-pending arms slope away from the operator so material sheds instead of packing onto them, with hoses routed inside or underneath where they are protected; R&D director Tyler Handel's stated aim was visibility both above and below the boom. The hydraulics are load-sensing with variable rate flow, so the operator meters the flow an attachment actually wants rather than dumping the whole circuit at it, and an adjustable creep mode with a boost pedal exists for cold planers and brooms where ground speed has to match head speed. The cab adds a 7-inch colour display, a backlit keypad with keyless start and a foot throttle. Everything is built in Madison, South Dakota.

This earns its place if you are loading trucks and running heavy attachments most days and the honest alternative is a compact wheel loader you would have to trailer anyway. Gehl publishes no list price, so every figure is a dealer quote and there is no secondhand market yet to benchmark against - walk in holding quotes on a comparable Case, Takeuchi or JCB. Before signing, confirm the high-flow and hydraulic boost options are actually on the build sheet rather than assumed, price the side counterweights separately, and be honest about the distance to your nearest Gehl dealer, because on a machine this size that distance is the real running cost.

What owners like

  • Bucket breakout is quoted at 10,624 lbs across the large-frame range, with 7,041-7,116 lbs at the lift arm, so the 3,600 lb rating is backed by digging force and not ballast alone.
  • The 40 GPM high-flow circuit at 3,450 psi runs a large mulching head properly, and Gehl publishes the number that actually matters with hungry attachments: up to 50.3 hydraulic horsepower standard, 82 hp with the boost option.
  • Optional side counterweights raise rated capacity to 3,800 lbs, which is the difference between picking a full pallet of block and breaking it down.
  • A 136-inch hinge pin height is the tallest Gehl builds, clearing high-sided and tri-axle bodies without creeping the machine forward to dump.
  • Controls are pilot joysticks mounted to the seat rather than electro-hydraulic, so they track the operator's position and leave less cab electronics to fault-find than rivals that went fully EH.
  • Daily service points are grouped, grease fittings sit around the machine's perimeter at walking height, and a tilt-up hydraulic cooler plus tilting cab open the compartment for deeper work.

What owners complain about

  • It launched in September 2025, so there is no field service record at all - nobody has put enough hours on one to say what wears first or how the dealer network handles a warranty claim on this platform.
  • The 3,600 lb headline is 50% of a 7,200 lb tipping load, the wheeled-skid-steer basis. A track loader quoting the same 3,600 lbs on a 35% basis is standing on far more machine, so the two numbers are not comparable.
  • At 10,320 lbs this is a dedicated-trailer machine, and its ground pressure rules it out of finished-surface work a smaller frame would walk across.
  • Two-speed travel tops out around 12 mph, which repositions the machine fine but is no substitute for a compact wheel loader if the job is really about moving material across a large yard.
  • The Deutz TCD3.6 splits parts and service away from the Yanmar-powered machines lower in Gehl's own range, so a mixed fleet ends up maintaining two engine relationships.
  • Dealer coverage is the brand's standing weakness and it bites hardest on a flagship, where a week waiting on a part costs more than the machine saved at purchase.

What buyers ask

Is the V360 available as an electric machine?
No. It is a 114 hp Deutz TCD3.6 diesel. Some online spec listings for Gehl's large-frame models mis-tag the power source as battery, which is a data-entry error rather than a product - there is no electric skid steer anywhere in this range.
How much does the counterweight option actually add?
Optional side counterweights take rated operating capacity from 3,600 lbs to 3,800 lbs. That 200 lb gain matters if you are routinely at the ceiling with pallet forks and very little otherwise, so price it at quote time rather than adding it later.
Is the 40 GPM high-flow option worth paying for?
If you intend to run a large mulching head, a cold planer or a big snow blower, yes. The standard 25 GPM circuit will turn them but not at full output. Gehl quotes up to 50.3 hydraulic horsepower standard and 82 hp with the boost option, and hydraulic horsepower rather than GPM alone is what decides whether an attachment does its rated work.
How does the V360 compare with the tracked VT360?
Same 114 hp Deutz, same 136-inch hinge pin, same 25/40 GPM hydraulics and the same 3,600 lb headline - but the VT360 reaches it at 35% of a much higher tipping load and carries roughly 1,800 lbs more machine. The wheeled V360 is cheaper to run and quicker between piles; the VT360 floats on soft ground and is steadier at height.
What is daily servicing like?
Gehl grouped the daily checks and put the grease fittings around the outside of the machine where you can reach them on a walk-around. The hydraulic cooler tilts up for rear visibility and engine-compartment access, a reversible fan is optional for dusty work, and the cab tilts for deeper jobs. Tie-down points were increased in number and size for trailering.
Should the fact that it is a brand-new platform worry me?
It is the honest risk here. Frame, lift arms, undercarriage components and cab are all new as of September 2025, so early-build quirks have not surfaced publicly and nobody can tell you what the 2,000-hour picture looks like. If you cannot absorb downtime, either wait a season or make certain the two-year, 2,000-hour warranty is backed by a dealer close enough to actually use.
