The bright segment is what Yanmar TL100VP Forestry is rated to carry; the grey run past it is the rest of its tipping load. Bar length is tipping load drawn to the same scale on every machine on the site, so a short bar is a smaller machine and not a conservative rating.

One caveat on this machine: we could not find a published tipping load for it, so the figure above is its advertised capacity divided by the fraction its maker rates at. That makes the grey run arithmetic rather than a measurement, and it is the number worth asking a dealer to confirm.

Yanmar publishes no list price for this machine, and we found no dealer listing worth quoting, so there is no number here to give you. What we can say is what the machines around it cost: the middle half of the 17 track loaders within 15 per cent of its capacity list between $99,890 and $120,586. That is a fact about them, not a quote for this one.

Highest-capacity track loader Yanmar sells: the forestry-package TL100VP, rated 4,100 lb against the standard machine's 3,500, with 41 GPM high flow standard and 20-inch tracks. Cab-only and announced in August 2026, it is built for mulching and land clearing rather than as a general loader.

Suits: Land-clearing contractors who need the most rated capacity and hydraulic flow in the Yanmar range Its vertical lift path reaches highest at full extension, for loading high-sided trucks and stacking.

What owners report

Summarised from the sources listed below. Nothing here was tested by us.

Land clearing is where the Posi-Track undercarriage stops being a preference and becomes the specification, and this is Yanmar's answer at the top of the range. Standing above every other machine the company builds at 4,100 lb rated capacity, it pairs the 103.5 hp 4TNV94FHT with the 41 gpm circuit and 20-inch tracks, and puts the whole thing on the fully suspended ASV torsion-axle undercarriage that drops it to 4.1 psi despite an 11,570 lb operating weight.

The forestry package is the reason to buy it rather than the standard TL100VP, and it is not cosmetic. The cab is a sealed all-weather forestry enclosure with heat and air conditioning; the guarding on the smaller TL80VP Forestry runs to a 3/4-inch polycarbonate door and 1/2-inch polycarbonate side windows, which is the standard this line is built to. A hydraulically driven reversing fan keeps the cooling pack clear of the chaff a mulcher throws, which in practice is what separates a machine that works all afternoon from one that gets stopped every hour. What it costs is weight - 1,225 lb more than the base machine - and flexibility, since there is no open-ROPS version to fall back on. Running costs follow the ASV pattern too: all-rubber tracks that float beautifully on soft ground and dislike rock, with more wheels, bearings and seals underneath than a conventional undercarriage has.

Clearing and mulching on ground soft enough that flotation is the constraint is what justifies it. If clearing is a sideline and the rest of the week is concrete and demolition, a steel-embedded machine with a high-flow circuit is the cheaper tool to keep in tracks. Before signing, pin down three things in writing: that the 41 gpm circuit is on the order and not assumed, the measured bucket pin height Yanmar does not publish, and the undercarriage parts price list - on this design that list is the real cost of ownership.

What owners like

  • 4,100 lb rated capacity is the highest Yanmar publishes for any track loader - 600 lb above the standard TL100VP and 320 lb above the steel-embedded TL100VS - and it comes with the 41 gpm circuit that a full-size mulching head actually needs.
  • 4.1 psi on 20-inch tracks from an 11,570 lb machine is the argument for doing forestry work on a Posi-Track undercarriage: cutover ground and wet slopes that would bog a conventional loader of this weight stay workable.
  • It is cab-only with an all-weather forestry enclosure, heat and air conditioning, and the sibling TL80VP Forestry's guarding spec gives the measure of the package - 3/4-inch polycarbonate door and 1/2-inch polycarbonate side windows. An open ROPS is the wrong machine in flying debris whatever it saves.
  • A hydraulically driven reversing fan is the specification that decides whether a mulcher runs through an afternoon in chaff and dust or gets nursed while somebody blows out a cooler.
  • The fully suspended ASV undercarriage still carries the no-derailment guarantee and the two-year/2,000-hour cover, which on a machine that spends its life crossing stumps and slash is the warranty clause that matters.

What owners complain about

  • Compactequip reports the forestry models ship with the 41 gpm hydraulics as standard, while Yanmar's own spec table for this machine still lists the 23/41 gpm low/high pair - so get the flow configuration confirmed in writing on the order rather than assuming the forestry badge includes it.
  • At 11,570 lb it is the heaviest machine Yanmar builds, 1,225 lb up on the base TL100VP, and that is before a mulching head. The flotation advantage is partly spent carrying the forestry package around.
  • No bucket pin height is published, as with every Posi-Track model, so its reach cannot be compared against other large-frame machines on paper.
  • Cab-only means there is no cheaper open-ROPS build, so a buyer who wants the 4,100 lb capacity for general site work has to pay for forestry guarding they will not use.
  • Forestry configurations are the hardest of all to price from dealer listings later, and this one launched in August 2026 with no published price and no used market at all - the quote is the only number in existence.

What buyers ask

Does the TL100VP Forestry come with high flow as standard?
Trade coverage of the launch describes the forestry models as shipping with the 41 gpm hydraulics standard, but Yanmar's own specification page still lists the 23 gpm standard and 41 gpm high-flow pair. Since the high-flow circuit is the entire point of a forestry build, get it written onto the order explicitly rather than inferring it from the model name.
Why is it rated higher than the standard TL100VP?
4,100 lb against 3,500 lb, on the same engine and undercarriage family. The forestry build is substantially heavier at 11,570 lb versus 10,345 lb, and that added mass at the back of the machine raises what it can carry at the front. It is the highest rated capacity Yanmar publishes for any of its track loaders.
Can it work on soft ground with a mulching head fitted?
That is what the 20-inch tracks and 4.1 psi are for. The ASV Posi-Track undercarriage lays down as many as four times the ground contact points of a steel-embedded belt, which is why an 11,570 lb machine still treads lightly on cutover and wet ground. Bear in mind a heavy head hung out front changes the weight distribution, so the published figure is a bare-machine number.
What does the forestry cab actually include?
An all-weather sealed enclosure with heat and air conditioning, plus polycarbonate glazing - the sibling TL80VP Forestry is specified with a 3/4-inch polycarbonate door and 1/2-inch polycarbonate side windows. There is no open-ROPS version of this machine, which is the correct decision for debris work but removes the cheaper general-purpose option.
Is this machine a poor choice if I also do demolition work?
Yes, for the tracks rather than the machine. All-rubber Posi-Track belts have no steel core, and rock, rebar and concrete debris cut them considerably faster than they cut steel-embedded belts. If the work is genuinely mixed, the steel-embedded TL100VS with the high-flow package is the more economical machine to keep in tracks, at the cost of flotation.
How do the tracks and undercarriage compare on running cost?
ASV-pattern all-rubber tracks run roughly $4,000 to $6,000 a set against about $3,500 to $5,500 for a comparable steel-embedded belt, with life quoted at 1,500 to 2,000 hours against roughly 1,000 for steel-embedded. Underneath sit bogie wheels, idlers, bearings and seals that a rigid undercarriage does not have, and owners of the ASV equivalents consistently say dealer-list prices on those components are steep enough that they buy aftermarket.
