The bright segment is what Yanmar TL75VS-1C is rated to carry; the grey run past it is the rest of its tipping load. Bar length is tipping load drawn to the same scale on every machine on the site, so a short bar is a smaller machine and not a conservative rating.

First vertical-lift step in Yanmar's track loader line, launched at ConExpo 2023 and built in Grand Rapids, Minnesota alongside ASV machines. A 71.5 hp turbocharged Yanmar diesel, a torsion-axle suspended undercarriage on steel-embedded track and 2,555 lb of rated capacity at 35% of tipping load put it against the mid-frame Bobcat and Deere machines.

Suits: Mid-frame vertical lift backed by Yanmar's own first-party engine support Its vertical lift path reaches highest at full extension, for loading high-sided trucks and stacking.

What owners report

Summarised from the sources listed below. Nothing here was tested by us.

Narrow access is what this machine is actually for, and the spec sheet says so more clearly than the marketing does. The 12.6-inch tracks that give it the tightest footprint of Yanmar's mid-frames are the same tracks that leave it at 6.1 psi, the highest ground pressure in the range - a deliberate trade for a machine aimed at construction, utility and rental work on firm ground rather than at turf.

What you get for it is a proper vertical lift path with a published 10-foot 6.5-inch bucket pin height, a suspended torsion-axle undercarriage with a rear pivot link fitted to damp oscillation and keep material in the bucket, and an operator station with close to 360-degree visibility, a mechanical suspension seat, a 7-inch display and a roof escape hatch as standard. Staying under 75 hp keeps DEF off the machine entirely, though the DPF and its regeneration cycles remain and short-cycle users will notice them. The hydraulics are the honest limitation: 21.4 gpm standard and 26.7 gpm on the high-flow option is midpack, and it trails what the established brands sell as high flow at this size, so heavy attachment work is not really the brief. Telematics, the camera and the air-ride seat sit on the options side, which is worth knowing when the Posi-Track machines in the same lineup include the first two as standard.

Contractors working firm ground in tight places are the fit - utility work, rental fleets, yards and infill sites - and what they value is the published lift height and the narrow track over flotation. If your ground is soft, wet or finished, the TL75VP on the same engine is the more appropriate machine at 4.5 psi and nearly 1,300 lb lighter, at the cost of 255 lb of rated capacity. Before signing, price the options individually, confirm which undercarriage the quote describes, and check where the nearest Yanmar parts counter actually is: the network grew noticeably through 2026 rather than already being dense, which is a good trajectory and a poor consolation during a breakdown.

What owners like

  • A published 10-foot 6.5-inch maximum bucket pin height on a vertical lift path loads tandem dumps and hoppers cleanly, and it is a number you can check against your own trucks - Yanmar publishes no equivalent figure for any of its Posi-Track models.
  • At 71.5 hp it stays below the threshold that brings DEF: Yanmar's spec sheet shows a 5-gallon DEF tank on the 103.5 hp TL100VS and none on this machine, so there is one fewer fluid to stock.
  • Both torsion axles are suspended and a pivot link at the rear axle is fitted specifically to reduce oscillation and stabilise the machine, which is what keeps material in the bucket over rough ground rather than on it.
  • The narrow 12.6-inch track and 60 inches on the ground keep the overall machine tight, which is the point in gated yards and between buildings where a 17.7-inch-tracked machine simply does not fit.
  • Near-360-degree visibility with a standard mechanical suspension seat, 7-inch display and roof escape hatch make it one of the more comfortable mid-frames to sit in all day.
  • Two years/2,000 hours on the machine plus a separate one year/1,000 hours on the tracks - the track coverage is genuinely uncommon and reassuring on a product line this new.

What owners complain about

  • 6.1 psi is the highest ground pressure of any Yanmar track loader, and it is the number this machine's 12.6-inch tracks cost it. On wet or finished ground it will mark where the TL75VP at 4.5 psi will not.
  • 2,555 lb of rated capacity is the lowest of the steel-embedded mid-frames, 345 lb under the TL80VS-1C on the identical 71.5 hp engine, while weighing only 405 lb less.
  • Standard 21.4 gpm auxiliary flow is midpack, and even the 26.7 gpm high-flow option trails what Cat and Bobcat offer as high flow at this size - this is not the machine for a full-size mulching head.
  • SmartAssist telematics, the rearview camera and the air-ride seat are all options here, where the Posi-Track machines in the same lineup include telematics and the camera as standard. Price the build sheet, not the brochure.
  • Yanmar entered the compact track loader market in 2023, so there is very little field history past a few thousand hours and the used market has not yet priced a first-generation Yanmar CTL for trade-in purposes.
  • The TL75VP now sits beside it on the same engine at 4.5 psi and 9.1 mph, nearly 1,300 lb lighter. The two overlap in one showroom and differ by a single letter, so a buyer comparing two Yanmar quotes needs to know which undercarriage each one describes.

What buyers ask

Why is its ground pressure so much higher than the other Yanmars?
The tracks are only 12.6 inches wide with 60 inches on the ground, giving 1,512 square inches of contact - the smallest footprint in the mid-frame range. That is deliberate: it makes the machine narrow enough for tight access work. The consequence is 6.1 psi, the highest figure Yanmar publishes for any of its track loaders, so it is not the machine for finished turf or saturated ground.
Does the TL75VS-1C need DEF?
No. At 71.5 hp it stays under the horsepower threshold that requires a DEF system, and Yanmar lists no DEF tank for it, unlike the 103.5 hp TL100VS with its 5-gallon tank. There is still a DPF, so operators doing lots of short, light-load cycles will encounter regeneration interruptions.
How high does it lift?
Maximum bucket pin height is 10 feet 6.5 inches on a vertical lift path, which handles tandem dump bodies and most hoppers. This is one of the practical advantages the steel-embedded machines have over the Posi-Track models on paper, since Yanmar does not publish a lift height for the P models at all.
Can it run a mulching head?
Realistically, no. Standard auxiliary flow is 21.4 gpm and the high-flow option reaches 26.7 gpm at 3,771 psi, which covers augers, grapples, brooms, planers and smaller brush cutters but trails what the volume brands sell as high flow at this frame size. For a full-size mulching head you want the TL80 models at 34.3 gpm or the TL100 machines at 41 gpm.
Should I get this or the TL75VP?
It comes down to your ground. The VP uses the ASV Posi-Track fully suspended undercarriage at 4.5 psi and 9.1 mph, weighs nearly 1,300 lb less, and includes telematics and a rearview camera as standard - but it is rated 255 lb lower at 2,300 lb and Yanmar publishes no lift height for it. This machine is the choice for firm ground, narrow access and truck loading where the published pin height matters.
How much long-term reliability data is there?
Not much, honestly. Yanmar only entered the compact track loader market in 2023, so field history past a few thousand hours is thin and early buyers are effectively the durability fleet. The two-year/2,000-hour machine warranty with separate one-year/1,000-hour track cover is a reasonable hedge, and the used market has not yet set a trade-in value for a first-generation Yanmar CTL either way.
